Best time to visit Uluwatu
Best time to visit Uluwatu is during dry season between April and October. The rest of the year the weather is more rainy.
Things to do in Uluwatu

1. Greenbowl beach
Price: 5k
Opening hours: you can come anytime
Greenbowl beach is a must visit place in Bukit peninsula. It is a bit further from Uluwatu but that shouldn’t stop you from coming here. Parking area is at the top of a cliff and there’s many stairs that will take you down to the beach. The beach is not very big but it’s really stunning. There are two caves with shrines inside them.
TIP: Come during mid tide! At low tide water level si too low so there are many rocks sticking out of the water. At high tide there might be too much water.
2. Pantai Batu Barak - cliff road
Price: 15k
Opening hours: you can come anytime
Pantai Batu Barak is an unbelievable epic road right inside a cliff. I wonder how this was even created in the first place. It’s a very good photospot! I’m sure the photos below will convince you to visit this place. It’s not really in Uluwatu area but it’s worth the trip.

3. Karang Boma cliff
Price: 10k, 100k for drone
Opening hours: you can come anytime
Karang Boma cliff is a mind blowing viewpoint you shouldn’t skip. After paying small entrance you will enter a nice green area with lovely views. Head to the left and keep following the path until you reach the end. There are a few viewpoints of Uluwatu temple on the way. You can stand right at the edge of Karang Boma cliff and watch huge waves crashing below you. It’s definitely the best spot to watch sunset.
TIP: Be careful when standing on the cliff edge. There might be strong gust winds.
4. Uluwatu temple
Price: 50k adult, 30k kids
Opening hours: 07:00 – 19:00
Uluwatu temple is a small temple located on high cliffs in Uluwatu. Apart from the temple, you can enjoy stunning views over the coast here. There’s a lot of monkeys which can get a bit aggressive. Make sure to always watch your belongings and keep all loose items inside your bag.

5. Kecak fire dance
Price: 150k
If you want to experience a little bit more of Balinese culture make sure to plan a visit to Uluwatu temple in the evening. Every day at 7pm they hold a Kecak fire show here. Many people come to see this so it’s best to book your tickets in advance.

6. Suluban beach
Price: free, 5k for parking
Suluban beach is not really the perfect place to relax, sunbath and swim. It is a very narrow beach hidden between two high cliffs. You won’t get much sun here. You can stroll around and discover little bays by crossing the cliffs. You will meet many pro surfers heading to the water here.
7. Padang Padang beach
Price: 15k adult, 1k motorcycle parking
Opening hours: 07:00 – 19:00
Padang Padang is a real paradise. It is surrounded by majestic cliffs. You can always find some shadow here. On the way down you will pass a small temple. At the beach you can rent surfs, get some cold drinks and snacks. The only negative is that it can be a bit crowded.
TIP: You can find stairs leading up a cliff at the left side of the beach. There is a really nice viewpoint.
8. Dreamland beach
Price: free, 5k for parking
Dreamland beach is a beautiful paradise between cliffs. It has white sand and crystal clear water. The whole beach is very lovely. There are few shops where you can get a drink. You can also find surf board rentals and lessons here. It’s possible to rent a sunbed too. There is a huge shore wave where you can have a lot of fun.
9. Learn surfing
Price: board rental is around 100k/hour, surf lesson 300k depending on the beach
Bali is a so called surf mecca. It offers some of the best waves in the world! It’s really incredible to watch pro surfers riding some crazy barels. If you would like to learn to surf you will find many different surf camps and surf lessons all around Canggu, Kuta and in Uluwatu. We personally found Uluwatu much easier with better waves if you’re still new to this sport.
TIP: For most beginner friendly waves on Bali head to Padang Padang beach and Dreamland.
