Kerala

One of our favourite parts of India. Kerala is so beautiful! It’s full of nature and greenery. Experience unforgettable Theyyam festival in Kannur, cruise around Kerala’s backwaters on a houseboat in Allepey or explore hill country full of tea plantations and spice gardens in Munnar.

Best time to visit Kerala

june – september

november – march

Summer months are affected by monsoon. Prepare for a heavy rainfall and unbearable levels of humidity. There might be some flooding during this period too. A big plus is that you get much less tourists and prices drop as well. It is also said to be the best time for Ayurvedic treatment. You can still enjoy many activities. Hills and forests are lush green and waterfalls are full of water!

Winter months are definitely the best time to visit Kerala. The temperatures are quite pleasant (still a bit too hot though). It’s mostly sunny all the time and humidity levels are very low. It is the most popular tourist season. During winter months you also have a unique chance to experience Theyyam festivals around Kannur. If you plan to go to Munnar, bring some warmer clothes too. In some areas it gets as cold as 0° during night!
