Best time to visit India

India is a huge country and every part is different when it comes to weather. In general, winter is the best time to visit. If you plan to go to the northern parts and trek around the Himalayas, during winter there is a lot of snow and many roads are closed. So for Himalayas arrive in spring or autumn.

Summer in India is influenced by the summer monsoon. Most of the countries in India experience a lot of daily rainfall. This may not be the best time to explore. Some attractions are not even accessible (for example Ranthambore safari). Since March, many parts India tend to be unbearably hot and humid. Prices can be lower and there are also fewer people.

Winter is the best season to travel in India. This will avoid the monsoon season and hot temperatures. It is the most popular tourist season, which means higher prices and more people everywhere. Temperatures are mostly pleasant, in the northern parts too cold. The weather is mostly dry throughout the winter. You can also experience the amazing festivals of Diwali and Holi.
