Summer is the main holiday season. Children do not have to go to school and many people use their vacation days. In destinations such as Balaton it can get very crowded. When you plan to visit Budapest, prepare for hot days. In the capital it can get a bit uncomfortable. But it is a great time to explore nature and vineyards in region of Tokaj!
Winter is probably not the best time to visit this country. If you go a bit off beat many hotels and attractions can be closed. In november and february it can rain a lot. On contrary in december and january you can expect some snow. In general the weather can be a bit depressive. But Budapest in winter looks like from a fairytale. Make sure to visit Christmas market!
Probably the best time for a visit. Weather and temperatures are very pleasant. There is also not that many people around.
