Summer in the Julian Alps is the main tourist season. The same applies to the whole of Slovenia. Be prepared for hot sunny days and maybe slightly cooler evenings. Tourists are plentiful at this time and prices are higher. If you want to avoid this, come at the end of the season or in spring or autumn.
In winter, several hiking trails are closed. This may also apply to some mountain roads. Have proper winter equipment with you – both for hiking and for the car.
